Why do we do pickups at our locations instead of shipping?
Simply put;
We enjoy meeting you. We like to know the families we support, it keeps us grounded in the reality that we are directly affecting people with our products.
We see you pull up; our clients have such a variety of cars, its one of our fun parts - guessing what size share you have by the car, or your name. Not the price of the car, but how big the family could be or how we are going to fit a half beef in the back of a convertible?!
We try to guess who's who when its maybe your second time, my very own attempts at placing names to faces! I see your name constantly, we use last names to organize boxes and i always try my best to get the spelling and pronunciation right! The guys (Josiah and Ryan) always tease about hard names, so I make sure to ask if I'm saying it right!
I try to recall who requested tongue, who wanted a sample of the liver... We chat and i hear the excitement of filling your freezer! Is this your first time? Did you buy beef like this back home? Or maybe its a call back to when you were a kid and your family raised their own. I love hearing the reason, the push that made you commit to us.
It's worth the long day from leaving the ranch at first light, to loading 4,000 pounds of meat not once, but twice in the day, box by box.
We see your expression when we put your order in the back, or ask about the bones or organs - you let us know you have a dog or just had a baby...
Whether you know it or not, whether we can remember the name to the face, you stick in our minds. Its each of you we think of when we raise our beef, struggle to make decisions because we know who it affects.
We are so grateful you guys make the trip to meet us, we appreciate the effort that goes into - the planning and preparing. We appreciate it more than you know!
Thank you!
Savannah Barteau
