Date Creek Ranch cows are happy cows. Our cattle are happy because they are born and raised here on our beautiful desert ranch.  Animals grazing native grasses are healthier and enjoy a better quality of life that is immeasurably better than those animals raised in confinement.  For example, our cows are able to eat when they are hungry, move around as they please, select for their diets, enjoy clean and spacious environments, and find a nice shade tree when it is needed. Our animals never leave the ranch and all processing is done right here (meat is cut up in a shop located off the ranch).  This completely eliminates all stress to the animal as they are not loaded into trailers on the final day and hauled to an unfamiliar location.

In fact, our animals are handled using innovative stress-reducing techniques.  The cows are used to seeing us on a regular basis and when moved to different pastures we are very careful to move them slowly and respectfully. We use no hormones, pesticides, antibiotics or steroids. In the unlikely event that an animal becomes sick and requires antibiotics, that animal is removed from the herd and sold elsewhere.  Because our cattle are raised right here on clean, healthy pastures they are not exposed to diseases.

We have an excellent meat cutter who dry ages your meat (for tenderness and to enhance the flavor) for 14 days before processing it.

We sell our beef by the quarter. Typically quarters are between 100 and 140 pounds cold hanging weight. (chwt) Chwt is the carcass weight before dry aging.  Package weight is approximately 25% lower than chwt depending on the amount of fat.  Depending on the size of the quarter, cost is between $400 - $560 (includes cost of processing). Price is $ 4.00 per pound chwt across all cuts.  A $50 deposit is required when ordering, which will put your name on our waiting list.  The waiting list will not be longer than 10 weeks unless drought or other environmental difficulties prevent this.  It can take up to 10 weeks because we do not process the animal until your order is placed. Orders for a quarter will be cut to a standard cutting list.  Orders for more than a quarter can request a customized cutting list.

  • 4 chuck roasts
  • 2 round bone roasts ( or 1 round bone roast and 1 boneless chuck roast)
  • 3 - 4 packages of shortribs
  • 3 london broil
  • 2 bottom round roasts
  • 1 eye of round roast
  • 2 porterhouse steaks
  • 6 sirloin tip steaks
  • 5 - 6 T-bone steaks
  • 6 ribeye steaks
  • 3 tenderloin steaks
  • 2 - 3 tri tip steaks
  • 3 top sirloin steaks
  • 2 - 3 packages of stew meat
  • Approximately 20 packages of hamburger in 1 - 1 & 1/2 lb. packages
  • 2 packages of dog bones/ stew bones

Your meat can be picked up in Wickenburg or on occasion it will be delivered to a central location in Phoenix. Referrals will receive a $25.00 discount per referral.

We offer a discounted price for the 48 Blade Jaccard meat tenderizer (see cooking grass fed beef). If you buy a quarter of beef the Jaccard meat tenderizer cost is $20.00, if you buy more than one quarter the tenderizer is free of charge.
